The Fund endeavors to provide the best possible benefits for union members when they retire.The Fund offers the following for its participants:

  • Normal pension at age 65 with 5 years of service, including 36 months of contributions.
  • Early reduced pension at age 55 to 65 with 5 years of service including 36 months of contributions.
  • Vested deferred pension provided after 5years of service including 36 months of contributions.
  • Joint and Survivor Annuity Benefit options available at 50% or 75% upon retirement.

In order to participate in the UFW Pension Fund, an employer must have a collective bargaining agreement with a CWA local union.  Participation must be on an all-inclusive basis for the bargaining unit employees (no one can be excluded). All contributions to the Fund are made by the employer.  The Fund does not accept individual contributions.  The contribution rates can be submitted based on a percentage of gross payroll, flat rate per month, or on the basis of cents per hour worked.
